recommend that the operating organization of such buoy networks should carefully seek the best way to implement buoy programs, taking into account international procedures specified by the United Nations Convention on the Low of Sea;
recommend, in view of serious loss of mooring data and equipment in the Pacific associated with human activities, that appropriate international actions should be initiated in collaboration with national and international organizations;
recommend that the buoy network data should be subject to free, open and timely exchange and managed as a unified and integrated data set;
recommend that JAMSTEC should present the outcome of this workshop first to the CLIVAR SSG meeting to be held in Sapporo from 3 to 7 June 1996 and then to appropriate sessions of relevant international program and/or project groups.
